Vanity Trove December 2012 Victoria's Secret Edition & Why I Will Not Subscribe Again

This month is suppose to be an exciting month for Vanity Trove (hereinafter VT) because it is VT's first year anniversary and also it's the end of the year beauty box. However, when I received my VT beauty box, I lost my excitement immediately. It is even more disappointing than the previous month VT box!!!

This is what I've got in the box...

1. L'Oreal Anti-Spot Brightening Essence
2. DrGL Collagen Essence

3. Beauty Buffet Apple & Evening Primrose Facial Mask
4. Biore Cleansing Oil Cotton
5. Leaders Hydrogel Eye Therapy Patch
6. Ultra-thin Wax Strips

7. Belif Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner
8. Belif Milky Moisturizer Hydra Balancing
9. Belif Transforming Peel Off Mask
10. Belif Peat Miracle Revital Eye Cream
11. Belif The True Cream - Aqua Bomb
12. Belif Creamy Cleansing Foam Moist

13. DrGL voucher

And from the product card, this is what I suppose to get...

More than half of the products featured in the card are not in the box. I don't know why they even bother to print the product card.

I think the only thing that worth a try is the DrGL collagen essence. Even that, they didn't provide enough information about the product (other than direction to use). I have no clue what this collagen essence suppose to be. Is it suppose to be worn like moisturizer? Or is it suppose to be a serum? I don't know.... The voucher they gave us for the DrGL products expired in 25 Nov. I don't know why it is so soon when this is suppose to be a December box. Obviously the voucher expired even before the box reaches me :(

And a lot of people expected Victoria's Secret products to be included in this month's beauty box because this month's theme is Victoria's Secret. They just didn't realize the owner of Vanity Trove is actually Victoria. Haha... quite deceiving right?

Here are the reasons why I'm not subscribing to Vanity Trove again:

1. Most of the products come in sample sachets that you can find for free in magazines all the time. I would appreciate if they upsize the samples to at least trial pack and not sample sachets. After all, I paid for the beauty box, so I don't want to find something inside which I can get for free. Who can tell whether the product is useful or not since we can only try it once from the sachet.

2. They're not consistent with their products on the information card. I find that they will simply chuck in other products to substitute products that they run out. It makes me even more disappointed when I don't find the item that suppose to be there.

3. The value I paid for didn't translate to the value in the box. I think this is the biggest disappointment. It is about RM60+ for a month. With that money I could have gotten myself a full size product which I know I would use.

4. The brands they're bringing in are getting less interesting each month.

5. Selection of products are not balanced. They keep putting in skincare (which I don't really try a lot). I wish they have a balance of skincare, makeup and bath products. A mix of different stuff would be more interesting.

Nuff said. I just won't subscribe anymore. Luckily I didn't commit myself to their half year or one year plan. I will only continue subscribing if I find there's drastic improvement on their service.

Normally when I post up my beauty boxes unveil, I will include my referral link. But for this time, I don't think I will do it because I kinda embarrass to recommend it to you guys.

Do you subscribe to Vanity Trove? What do you think about their service?

Different people receive different products in their box. If you subscribe to it, please let me know what you've got. I really want to know....

Yikes! Half the contents of the box not found from the product card. :O I always thought VT boxes were pretty good, but I guess this month's one really isn't up to expectations. Personally I would love if they included makeup items. It is, after all, the party season for December. =/

Same here disappointed too..
Anyway thanks for sharing us this ugly truth! I thought this Christmas month would be better when I read your last month review before. The replaced items do not match the value that you paid! Did you complain them about this?

Jerine said...

@Jocy: I don't think there's a need to complain because there's no fault in their service. It is my personal satisfaction that I have problem with. All I can do is not to subscribe in the future.

Hey...I just used the Dr GL voucher yesterday, I think you must have been so disappointed, your eyes played tricks on you. Hahs! It happens...read again, it says "Date of issue" not date of "expiry". In fact, when I got it on the 24th of November I was wondering if I could use it or wait till tmr...

@Joeye: Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately I've threw it away. My mistake.

@Christine K: Your VT box is so much better than mine. It's funny how it's suppose to be the same month version...

Bf ordered the VT december 2012 box for me as s surprise.

There was things 'missing' from it that I found a little funny but over all it was NOT worth the money he paid for. Will not be subscribing to them ever again :P
