Hello girls (and boys)!!!
How's 2013 treating you so far? The first news I received for the year is that I've won tonnes of skincare products. I was so happy because I hardly win anything in my life, moreover a grand prize. Will reveal soon after I collect the prize.
I hope it is not too late for resolutions. Have you got your resolutions pen down? I don't have a general resolutions like most people because I think we all should try our best to achieve whatever we want like ALL THE TIME!
However, I have beauty resolution to make. This is not a resolution per se, but a list of stuff that I should and should not do in the beauty department. My main aim is TO BE A MINIMALIST in purchasing beauty related stuff.
Whenever I stroll down the mall or flipping through magazines, I always tempted to buy stuff that I don't really need. Sound familiar isn't it? I know most of us have that same problem. Because of that I have accumulated a lot of stuff that takes up plenty of space in my room. Whenever I look back at the stuff, I wish I have spent the money on something more useful like buying food for the homeless.
So this year, I have a very strict shopping list to follow. And I'm going make myself an advocate for minimalist this year. If you find yourself spending too much on beauty stuff, you are all welcomed to follow my list. At the end of 2013, we shall see how well/bad we do...
#1 - Clothes
Will only buy clothes for special occasion like Chinese New Year, very important dinner, etc. I have enough of clothes for everyday wear.
#2 - Bag
Will only buy one bag which is suitable for work.
#3 - Purse
Will only buy purse when it is torn. Mine going to spoil very soon but I'm dragging the time to purchase a new one. Who knows it might last me until end of this year?
#4 - Shoe
Will only buy for special occasion and whenever my everyday shoe wears off.
#5 - Lipstick
Will only buy TWO lipstick in general colour that is suitable for everyday look. I know two lipsticks won't last a year, but I already have some existing ones, add them together I think it is sufficient for the entire year.
#6 - Mascara
Will only buy a new one when my existing one dries out. And will only use ONE mascara at a time, that means I will only have one good one on my dressing table and will not stock up any.
#7 - Foundation/ loose powder
Will only buy a new one when my existing one running out. And I might switch to BB Cream for everyday wear as it is much cheaper.
#8 - Eyeshadow
Will NOT buy any, with exception of the Urban Decay Naked Basics. I feel that it is a product that specially made for me.
#9 - Eyeliner
Will only buy when I run out of it or it starts to dry up.
#10 - Blush
Will NOT buy any blush because I think my existing ones are enough to last me for the year. Unless I run out of it, then I'll buy a drugstore brand.
#11 - Shower gel/ body lotion
Will only buy drugstore brands and when I'm running out of it
#12 - Nail polish
A maximum of FIVE nail polish to purchase for the year.
#13 - Perfume
I'm a sucker for perfumes. But this year, I'm determined to buy only ONE bottle.
#14 - Eyebrow pencil
For some reason I always run out of this. I will stock up TWO eyebrow pencil at once and will only buy when I need it.
#15 - Skincare (facial wash/toner/moisturizer/serum/etc.)
Will only buy when I run out of it or there's bad reaction to my skin that requires me to change a new skincare.
On top keeping myself on a rigid shopping list, I will try my best to spend on drugstore products (except loose powder, foundation, lipstick and skincare). There are so many good drugstore products that are on par with branded ones. I will also take advantage on sales to save me some penny. And my shopping trip will be cut down to one month once. If I ever need to go to the mall to meet up with friends or for food, then I will just go on a window shopping trip.
I am so thankful that I won the grand prize for the skincare stuff. This will help me save a few thousands.
That basically sums up all my shopping list for year 2013. Do you think the list can sustain the shopaholic me?
