Deforestation Down There at Honeypot Wax Boutique

Question!!!! How do you normally remove your hair? Do you pluck them with tweezer? Use waxing strips? Or shave them? I use different techniques for different parts of my body. I tweez my underarms hair, I use waxing strips on my legs and I shave down there. You guys know what I mean by "down there" do you?

I know a lot of people go to waxing salon, but I never really felt comfortable with someone else helping me with my intimate part, so I didn't try it. Last month, I finally move out of my comfort zone and paid Honeypot a visit. The experience turn out to be a pleasant surprise.

As I stepped into Honeypot, I was greeted by friendly faces. The salon is decorated with pretty wallpapers and classy furniture. I really love the interior.

The hallway to treatment room

Each client will get their private treatment room. It is a pretty small room but it feels really cozy inside.

All the tools & equipments for the "procedure"
This is what I stare at the whole time of the waxing procedure

There are 5-steps to the procedure:

Step 1: Cleansing with Honeypot cleanser.
Step 2: The therapist will put on the Pain Free Potion to prepare for the waxing. This is to minimize irritation.
Step 3: Waxing!!! Therapist will spread the warm wax on "that part". Once it's semi-harden, she will pull it off. The texture feels a bit like rubber. And there's definitely some pain here.
Step 4: Cleansing, again, to make sure no wax left.
Step 5: Moisturizing.

I actually felt quite embarrassed and nervous, so I kept my mind occupied by asking plenty of relevant and irrelevant questions. Here are some Q&A from my so-called interview:

Normally who are your regular clients?
Everyone. Male and female. We have a lot of celebrity clients as well.

Other than down there, where else do you wax?
Normally people come here for underarms, legs, hands and facial hair waxing as well.

Why do people want to wax down there?
For hygiene purposes and also to for sexual confidence.

Do you get almost botak clients that want to wax their head hair?
Ermmm.... nope. Why would they want to wax their hair?
Maybe they get tired of their tiny hair, so they just want to wax it off. Will you do it?
I don't think so..... Hahahahaha....

Ouch! It's so painful. Is it normal? Do everyone feel the same pain? Or is it just me?
Because you shave before, so the pore size opens up and your hair grows thicker. That's why it's more painful. If you wax regularly, then you wouldn't feel the pain at all.

How regular is regular?
You should wax every 3 or 4 weeks once.

When is the good time to wax?
When your hair grows about 1 to 2cm long. And make sure you do it one week after or before your period.

There are few "styles" that you can opt for...

Guess which one I choose?

This is the wax that Honeypot use for waxing. They will warm it up to melt the wax...

Honeypot also sells various products for your domestic use. All the products that they use for the waxing procedure are also for sale. If you're more comfortable doing it at home, you can get the range of products available.

The next time I'm visiting them, I'm going to get the Fairest of Them All whitening serum for my private part. I think it is worth a try because I have no idea how to get rid of the dark area down there. It looks really awful whenever I have to wear bikini.

The entire procedure takes about 30 minutes (would be less if you don't ask a lot of silly questions like me). It cost RM108 for single treatment. Package is also available if you want to go back often.

Do pay Honeypot a visit if you want to get waxed. I totally recommend them because the therapist is really professional and friendly. And I love how clean the therapy room is. After all, fur bikini is so 1980's. It's time for you to take them off.

Deforestation, LOL!!

I have always, always wanted to try, but my pain threshold is the worst out of anyone you'll meet.

You left out the most important part! How bad is it on the pain scale??

@Cindy: It's RM108 per session.

@Sabrina: Not really that painful. It's the same pain like when you pluck your eyebrow. So it's still tolerable.

You're likening it to plucking the brows?? I'm hard-pressed to believe it, but if it's true it's hard to pass up!
