Brand Focus: Neesya Skincare

If you go to Subang Parade lately, there is no way you can miss the new skincare counter with huge sign on Neesya Skincare. If you've been thinking of trying Neesya, but not too sure about it, today I'm going to attempt to explain the brand and its products to you.

Neesya is a Greek word, meaning butterfly which symbolizes transformation. At Neesya, they believe that everyone has an inner beauty that is awaiting to be revealed. It is the very first skin care brand that specialize in radiance with its LumiScience Technology.

I have 3 products here to talk about - Brightening Enzymatic Refiner, Brightening Overnight Mask and their best seller Illuminating Essence.

Brightening Enzymatic Refiner

This is a gentle, non-abrasive exfoliant that helps promote luminous clarity and brighter skin. It contains papaya fruit enzymes that gently dissolve, lift away dead surface cells and skin dulling impurities. Specially formulated to help promote cell renewal, fade superficial blemishes and clear pores. Extract of Silver Vine and Alpha-Melight brighten and illuminate skin. Bio-technology derived yeast proteins, fortified with minerals of diamond, mother of pearl, turquoise and opal, help smoothen, refine skin texture and promote skin radiance. Pro-Vitamin B and aloe vera extract soothe and restore moisture. Result: Visibly brighter, refined, even toned complexion. Blackheads and comedones diminish over time. (RM35)

This works like peeling gel. Spread it out on to your skin for 5-10 minutes. Then wet your finger and massage your face in circular motion. I find this product very good in getting the blackheads out of the pores but not completely remove the blackheads. So I would recommend you to use this prior to extraction or your pore strips to get the blackheads out easier. This is a strong product, you will only need to use it twice in a week. If you have dull skin or stubborn blackheads/white heads, this is a good product for you to try out.

Brightening Overnight Mask

It is an intensive overnight treatment mask for visibly brighter and luminous skin. Formulated with Silver Vine extract, Alpha-Melight and aloe vera extract, this mask submerges the skin with a rich dose of brightening complex, anti-oxidants and moisture to intensively revitalise, complexion while you rest. Replenishes and recharges tired skin to help regain its suppleness, vitality and a healthy glow. (RM59)

In a layman term, we call this a sleeping mask. Apply before bed and rinse when you wake up. The texture is quite thick, dries matte and provides night long hydration. The brightening result is almost instantaneous, you can see brighter skin overnight. Although the product works as it claims, I don't find this product interesting. Maybe it is just me... I'm not into skin brightening, so I guess I'll skip this. However, if you have brightening skin concern, do get this.

Illuminating Essence

Visibly boosts skin luminosity with LumiScience Technology through a 360 degrees approach. Skin regains its translucent appearance as skin is brightened, hydrated and protected against damaging free radicals and oxidative stress. Silver Vine extract helps to reduce the protein carbonylation levels and enhance skin transluscency. Alpha-Melight helps fight dark spots, soothes and clarifies skin to optimize radiance and luminosity. Natural fruits extract complex helps skin regain optimum hydration levels by restoring skin cellular fluidity and natural moisturising factors. Results in an illuminated and more even toned complexion. (RM79)

This works like SK-II Treatment Essence, but of course it comes with lower price tag. The texture has a thicker consistency, it feels like a liquid version of gel (if that makes sense). The product focus more on providing radiance to your skin and making it glow. I personally love to put a generous amount of the essence on my face before putting on sheet mask. The essence absorbs better and you can see the glowing effect after you remove the sheet mask.

Overall, I think Neesya has really great product and the price is pocket friendly as well. I love it how it gives instant result after few days of using it. However, in terms of product concept, I think Neesya seems too "serious". It has that smell of prescribed medicated skincare and the packaging looks like those we buy from skin specialist clinic. It's not a bad thing, maybe that is the image Neesya is trying to achieve.

Let me know if there's any product above that you want me to do a comprehensive review. I will write a separate post on it.
