Makeup users will always find themselves reaching for makeup wipes for the convenience of removing makeups. I personally find it really useful especially when traveling, going to the gym after work and lazy days. There are many makeup wipes out there and it can be confusing to choose the right one. Here are 5 different brands of makeup wipes that I have on hand and I'm going to give you a summary of each. Then you shall decide which brand that suit your needs.
Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Wipes
Quantity: 25 sheets
Price: RM17.90 / RM0.716 per sheet
Made in UK
I really love the Simple cleansing wipes. It has no fragrance and suitable for sensitive skin. However, the cleansing power is not strong enough to remove waterproof mascara. I find some stains of mascara and eyeliner on my skin after using it.
Bifesta Water-based Makeup Remover Wipes
Quantity: 46 sheets
Price: RM19.80 / RM0.43 per sheet
Made in Japan
Bifesta is well known for its makeup remover and its makeup wipes are living up to the same standard. I really love the texture of the sheet. It is silky smooth and durable. (Personal experience: I forgot to bring my spectacle cloth during my travel, so I leave a sheet of the Bifesta wipe to dry. Then I use it to wipe my spectacle with it. It amazed me how that one sheet lasted for 7 days without any tearing). It removes waterproof makeup with just one wipe! It has a plastic cover lid which keeps the sheets saturated for a long time.
Biore Makeup Remover Wipes
Quantity: 10 sheets
Price: RM5.92 / RM00.592 per sheet
Made in Japan
Biore is my go-to brand when I have to get makeup wipes during my travel. It comes in different quantities - the 10 sheets pack is the smallest and the biggest pack is refillable. It is probably the cheapest makeup wipes in the market if you get the refillable pack. The quality of Biore wipes is very close to Bifesta. However, the Biore ones leave a stinging sensation on my skin, especially on my acne.
Nivea Exfoliating Wipes
Quantity: 20 pieces
Price: RM18.50 / RM0.945 per sheet
Made in Germany
I was attracted by the promise of exfoliation on the package. After the first use, I don't see the difference of me using other wipes. The sheet comes with bumpy texture which apparently helps remove dried skin. I also find the essence in the pack dries up very fast. And the opening seal did not work that well after a few usage. Also, it has a very strong scent which suggested presence of fragrance.
In conclusion, I do not recommend the Nivea exfoliating wipes. However, Nivea also has other types of makeup wipes which may work better. If I can choose only one wipe from all of the above, I would pick Bifesta. It's good in removing waterproof makeup and the texture of the sheets is so smooth. It is also the cheapest of all the 4 brands.
