Estée Lauder's latest collaboration with Victoria Beckham excites almost everyone. VB's taste in fashion has always been inspiration of women around the world. In this limited edition collab, VB brings her take on beauty based on 4 cities that she holds dearly in her heart.
“I am thrilled to be launching this limited-edition makeup collection with Estée Lauder,” said Beckham in a statement. “The whole process has been both inspiring and eye opening. From going back and revisiting the Estée Lauder archives through to working on the product with the Estée team, this feels like the perfect makeup partnership for me and my brand. I had long admired Estée Lauder the woman, and the powerful brand that she created, so I am excited to offer both of our customers this makeup range and play a small part in her vision for women.”
The London collection is a little edgy, rock n' roll and very classic Londoner beauty. Being a quintessential British, I think Victoria perfected this collection reflecting her makeup basics during the Spice Girl era. It comes with an eye pigment in Blonde Gold ($36), eyeliner ($30), eye ink ($45), eye metals eyeshadow ($45) and nude lipstick ($45).
The New York collection takes a different dimention. It has a bronzer ($65), lipgloss ($36), lip pencil ($30), and a gorgeous eyeshadow palette with 6 shades ($95).
The Paris collection which reflects Parisian beauty comes with an emerald eye metals eyeshadow ($45), coral red lipstick ($45), liquid liner ($36), eye kajal duo in black saffron & vanille ($30).
Los Angeles collection has the same bronzer as the NY collection. Then, there's a lipgloss which is also the same from the NY collection, the same eye kajal duo from the Paris collection. The only different product we see here is the rose gold highlighter ($65) which was previously an Estee Lauder limited edition which Victoria wishes to bring back.
The Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder collection will be available for sale starting from 13th September, however expect a little delay in the Malaysia market.
What I love about this collection is that VB has put in 100% of her effort in making this collection from production to the packaging of the products. It isn't just a brand hitch or marketing gimmick collaboration. We are accustomed to the great quality of Estee Lauder's product and with VB onboard, it raises the benchmark of the quality. Being a fan of both Estee Lauder and Victoria Beckham, this collection really excites me a lot.
What I don't like about this collection is the presentation. Although the products reflects the cities accurately, but you can't use them for a full face makeups. And it is annoying to see some pieces here and there, which doesn't make up a full collection. For example, the London collection is missing its face products, and the LA collection is missing on the eye products. Red lipstick in the Parisian collection? I almost never seen VB with red lips ever! I was expecting a lot of nude lipsticks, smokey eyes and cool-tone highlighters. Overall, I think this collection is still lacking a lot of VB's flavour.
Let me know what do you think of the collection? Is there anything you are eyeing on?
