Skincare I'm Using at the Moment

The last time I recorded my skincare routine on this blog was 2016. Since then I have changed a lot of skincare products, and I thought I should blog to update my current preferences. I have scaled down a lot by removing some products I don't think I need such as facial scrub and facial essence.

None of the products here are sponsored or PR sample. I purchased them with my own money unless stated.

TATCHA Camellia Cleansing Oil

I have everything good to say about this oil cleanser, except the price is too high. This cleanser washes off the toughest makeup, even my waterproof mascara. It doesn't leave black traces at all and does not have oily residue. The texture is silky and mild. Albeit, I don't think I will be buying this again because of the price - RM200 for 150ml. Even Dior oil cleanser is much cheaper.

TATCHA The Deep Cleanse

I think this is my 4th bottle of the Tatcha The Deep Cleanse. Since I've used this cleanser, I do not need to buy facial scrub. As the name suggests, it is a deep cleanse. The cleanser has fruit extract that gently exfoliates your skin. If you have clogged pores, often get breakouts due to environmental stress, or have oily skin, this cleanser will be your favourite right away.

DERMALOGICA Ultra Calming Mist

Although facial mist isn't something that is essential in my skincare routine, I find that my skin behaves better with this mist especially when it is reddish from heat or extraction. I got this from product redemption via my Aster Spring membership. If I were to use my own money to buy it, I don't think I will buy it though.

LA MER De Tonic (Toner)

I got this out of curiosity when I was looking for a toner that able to remove dead skin cells. This cost about RM400+ and it's only 6.7oz. Although it does what it suppose to do (removing dead skin cells and refreshing your skin prior to your treatment skincare), I find that it is not worth the money because the Hada Labo Mild Peeling Lotion works the same.

SK-II R.N.A. Power Essence (Serum)

I love SK-II serum. Although it is pricey, I think the serum is a product that worth investing in. Previously I've used the SK-II Aura Essence before which targeting uneven skin tone. The R.N.A. Power Essence helps in enhancing your skin firmness, reduce pores, and reducing fine lines. So far, I've use the second bottle, my nasolabial folds (the lines below your nose next to your mouth) is noticeably firmer. I hope this second bottle can help firm up my cheek area.

CLARINS Sun Wrinkle Control Cream For Face (Sunscreen)

This is my Christmas present from my friend, and this sunscreen can only be found in France. The regular Clarins counters here do not carry it. What I like about this sunscreen is the texture - although when deposited from the tube, it feels thick and creamy, when applied on the face, it is very sheer and hydrating. The coverage is also broad. The only disadvantage of this sunscreen is the pungent smell. Since this is not available in Malaysia, I don't think I am able to purchase it. Otherwise, I highly recommend it if you are in France.

TATCHA The Water Cream

Another Tatcha product in my list - not because I'm a fangirl, but I can't seem to finish this Water Cream. Although I bought it since October last year, I still have a half jar to go. You only need very little product for the entire face. It is pretty thick from the jar but when in contact with the skin, it turns into water like magic. On top of the pleasant texture, the product hydrates the skin until the next morning.

KIEHL'S Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Mask

My biggest skin concern is firming. At my age, anti-aging products help very little. I need strong and effective firming products in order to keep my skin as it is. I'd use this firming mask weekly or whenever I feel that my skin is sagging. There is an obvious improvement on the next day after I put it, but after a while, I can still see the sagging marks. I'm not sure if I suppose to use this daily or not. But I prefer to use hydration products on a daily basis.

KIEHL'S Creamy Eye Treatment

I have a love-hate relationship with this eye cream. It improves the firmness of my eyelid but at the same time it gives me some white seeds below my eyes. After that, I only apply it on my lid, which is still ok. It helps in improving skin elasticity, but it doesn't help on other eye area concerns such as fine lines and dark circles.
