Feringghi Garden Restaurant | The Most Romantic Restaurant in Penang

The Feringghi Garden Restaurant has been operating their business over a decade. Besides providing good quality food, this place is also known as one of the most romantic restaurant in Penang. The locals often visit this place for special occasions and tourist come here to enjoy the unique garden. 

This place gives me a Cameron Highlands vibe (minus the cool weather). They have impressive array of exotic plants such as monkey cups, orchids, hydrangeas, etc. If you're a gardener, you'll know that these plants takes extra attention to maintain.

We ordered the Pan Seared Hokkaido Scallops and Deep Fried Crab Cake as starter. The scallop was a a good choice. The crab cake taste really good but a little too dry. 

For main dish we ordered the Barbecue Tiger Prawn with garlic butter and French cut Rack of Lamb. The tiger prawn was really satisfying. The size was huge and fresh. You can taste the smokey taste as well. The rack of lamb was entirely covered with herb crust and I find that overpowering. 

I really like the environment of the restaurant. Imagine candle light dinner in a beautiful garden with blooming flowers. That's what it is. It feels like you're popping into a fairy tale story. I might be exaggerating, but you get the idea. If you don't like garden, they have indoor dining too. The dining area is surrounded by beautiful paintings of famous local artists. 

For those who asked if there's any mosquitoes or bugs - I didn't feel any mosquitoes or bugs the entire time I was there. When I asked the staff, they said the restaurant spends a lot of money on pest control and also they have prep the restaurant before business hour so guests can eat peacefully. 

I highly recommend to visit this place around early evening so you can see the garden while there is still sunlight, and wait for the transition into night where they will light up the place with candles for a romantic vibe.
