This was in 2020. </p><p></p><blockquote>My first impression of TikTok was “what are all these kids doing? Wasting their life dancing in front of the camera and creating nuisance in the public”. </blockquote><p></p><p>And then I went up one level to “how the heck these youngsters can earn on TikTok by just dancing?” </p><span><a name='more'></a></span><p>During the MCO era, there were so many people jumping into TikTok. What really motivated me to put my first foot onto TikTok ground was the need to access certain content. That time (during lockdown), Malaysians were so creative and my friends were sharing to me some TT content that can be only be accessed if you are a user. I downloaded the app and created an account. That was when I got down the rabbit hole. </p><p>For a good amount of time, I was the "observer". I enjoy being the consumer of the content by continuously viewing, sharing and commenting on other people's video. </p><p>In this post, I want to share how I got from zero followers to 1K (at the time of writing this post, I have 12K followers, but what matter the most is the first 1K followers). </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7fJX85Cz9mqPyM7OF9UE0_CoFxCK5XeIUURgR8j0yQBV3EPV4oPAY3ULnNVwqwVdawX3Z2c_agAt-2xpvFWr2OzYkOpm8Bi90hzv0n8yMtRjUKKUw5Pe2AuHnExwUNeOy-4N19oTIbYqrN9Jja6HCbxUsUwlS6CB_gu5aH7bDdO4tkpf-Temo9ueT/s1074/tt1.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="584" data-original-width="1074" height="348" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7fJX85Cz9mqPyM7OF9UE0_CoFxCK5XeIUURgR8j0yQBV3EPV4oPAY3ULnNVwqwVdawX3Z2c_agAt-2xpvFWr2OzYkOpm8Bi90hzv0n8yMtRjUKKUw5Pe2AuHnExwUNeOy-4N19oTIbYqrN9Jja6HCbxUsUwlS6CB_gu5aH7bDdO4tkpf-Temo9ueT/w640-h348/tt1.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>Always login to your analytics under the creator's tool tab to analyze which content garner followers for you</i></span></p><h1 style="text-align: left;"><b>#1 - Connect with friends & family via the TT app</b></h1><p>I think this is the very basic starter pack. Your friends & family are probably the best support for you to start. You're able to sync your contact & Facebook so that your contacts are able to find you on TT. </p><p>I got my first 200 followers that are my family & friends. That is almost 20% of the goal to 1K.</p><p><br /></p><h1 style="text-align: left;">#2 - Finding your niche </h1><p>This might take a few months, or a few uploads before you are getting comfortable posting content on TT. The good news is, taking video for TikTok doesn't require a lot and I assume everyone know how to take video on their phone - which is good enough for you to start. </p><p>Some of the things you can take into consideration as you develop your contents are:</p><p></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li><b>What topic or subject you want to focus on? </b>It's not necessary for you to post entirely on the topic only, but it gives TikTok algorithm to pick up who are the target account to boost your post to. For example, if you keep posting content about cars, TT will push your content to people who already following car content creator or frequently engage with car related content. </li><li><b>In terms of location, where is your focus?</b> You can target your locality based on the language you want to use, the location you want to tag & also the relevant hashtag to use. </li><li><b>The direction of your content - this means that how do you want to deliver your content? </b>Do you want to use comedy approach or education or recommendations. Is it going to be videos with text only? Are you going to do a voice over? Do you prefer to post just photos but in a form of video? After a few months you’ll be able to find a “template” when making your video. Once you have that template the process is pretty easy. </li></ul><div>If you have a specific style when you're posting your content, TT will play a match-making role by sending your content to the relevant audience. This is an organic way to grow your audience. </div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><h1 style="text-align: left;">#3 - Use all TikTok's resources</h1><div><br /></div><div>When posting a video on TT, try to use all the resources. The resources are:</div><div><br /></div><div><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Text - type relevant info with the text function on your video. TT’s algorithm will pick up keywords from the text. </li><li>Stickers - look out for campaign stickers such as “stay at home” (during lockdown) or “makanlokal” (during local food campaign). This will help TT pushing your video to the relevant community that using the same stickers. </li><li>Songs - trending songs can help you generate more views </li><li>Hashtag - Hashtags help you get views through 2 ways: (1) through search when users search for specific videos and (2) for TT algorithm to pick up the video category and push it to FYP. Let’s talk about FYP some other day. </li><li>Tag location of the place - If your video is relevant to a location such as travel, always tag the location. If you are doing a general video such as unboxing video, then tag a generic location such as "Petaling Jaya". </li></ul><div><br /></div><h1 style="text-align: left;">#4 - Post content of same subject constantly</h1></div><div><br /></div><div>In order for TT to categorize your content faster, post your content of the same subject consistently. A bad example would be: 1 post on cars, the next day you post something about childcare, the next content on travel, and then shopping. TT cannot understand who are the people you are targeting and they can't categorize you to a specific circle. Try to stick 3 posts within the same subject before you upload other type of content. </div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>I think that's a good start for your road to 1K. Do watch out for weekly update on this blog. I have prepared other tips on:</div><div><br /></div><div><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Hashtag tips on TikTok</li><li>How to get your video to FYP</li><li>How to earn from TikTok</li></ul><div>...and many more to come. </div></div><p></p>Jerinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13091400506681129015noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7375402090478173838.post-60074655301346941242022-05-07T00:36:00.002+08:002022-05-07T00:36:34.076+08:002 hours in Asakusa, Tokyo<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSMuQ1sVRzFN6p5uWykZyIt_XdfINqb7oYCpvvqjz16i5Hnii1Ulv2KY8AO4Zs-iFs_yb1DQlfw5GYGu6k_oq81Wq0yYhKnps6dp5MGy5lT06dl427I8rT1uThBUkXWnsFhp3L10FILp8j-nDFKxDI3kBFwHnZTEsDnu-3aOdSOjWkJu52PDCiJ4Ab/s1280/Slide1.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="1280" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSMuQ1sVRzFN6p5uWykZyIt_XdfINqb7oYCpvvqjz16i5Hnii1Ulv2KY8AO4Zs-iFs_yb1DQlfw5GYGu6k_oq81Wq0yYhKnps6dp5MGy5lT06dl427I8rT1uThBUkXWnsFhp3L10FILp8j-nDFKxDI3kBFwHnZTEsDnu-3aOdSOjWkJu52PDCiJ4Ab/w640-h360/Slide1.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p>If you have only 2 hours to spend in Tokyo, I suggest you start from Asakusa. In this itinerary, I will share with you light & easy walking trip around the Sensoji Temple up to the Tokyo Cruise peer. Although it is generally called the "Asakusa Temple", the vicinity house a lot of separate shrines, and the places that I highly recommend not to be missed are: </p><span><a name='more'></a></span><p><br /></p><h1 style="text-align: left;">#1 - Kaminarimon Gate</h1><p>This is the famous huge lantern at the entrance of the temple. Other than being the signature photo spot for Japan, the gate serves as a guardian. If you look closely, there are statues of gods right next to the lantern and they are Fujin (god of wind) and Raijin (god of thunder, lightning & storm). </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghPRBOcJMUAXsW6_Irw9QvcdmZxYGoS0OzGvRmnMnNEoPeZNczH2f3FMD2RiESBp_jx_hWoEjODDcP38bN_iXIV5bWshU4YCguQ4KAHKw3CFEFZBoOnFhdnINwArDRmMhiQEtaHV5yZxtyvUTxT66tfTP50v4-Yhi21xTWCPxkbjcggu7fL_SHsU-K/s4134/filiz-elaerts-YbSS51CK-WM-unsplash.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2748" data-original-width="4134" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghPRBOcJMUAXsW6_Irw9QvcdmZxYGoS0OzGvRmnMnNEoPeZNczH2f3FMD2RiESBp_jx_hWoEjODDcP38bN_iXIV5bWshU4YCguQ4KAHKw3CFEFZBoOnFhdnINwArDRmMhiQEtaHV5yZxtyvUTxT66tfTP50v4-Yhi21xTWCPxkbjcggu7fL_SHsU-K/w640-h426/filiz-elaerts-YbSS51CK-WM-unsplash.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p><br /></p><h1 style="text-align: left;">#2 - Sensoji Temple</h1><p>Sensoji is a Buddhist denomination temple and the Goddess of Mercy being the main god here. If you are a Buddhist, you can experience a different process of praying and offering here. If you are not, like me, I just enjoy the fortune telling section on the outside of the temple. The style is pretty similar as how the Chinese do it. You just draw the stick and then find the number on the shelf. Pick your fortune notes from the drawer. It's just as simple as that. I find it pretty accurate. </p><p>There are other temples that dotted around Asakusa. If you have more than two hours to spend, I highly recommend you to check out other temples too. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJFmADuSXnk1UZCAbJqNIN3uz_FOjPrh7bONszLhntBzKUhKUnjsBwlz6H4mmpSeOrZnRypv99yuOBaifguAj97XnTYVsJY5PccC79-4WZ4KzYZnOVX1AUYVqkgTn9CQ8gaBV2uwAcFT5YGQWWmobEGlrps3ykrDcd18BFue52rvejjyLByFnpYowG/s3264/IMG-6599.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3264" data-original-width="2448" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJFmADuSXnk1UZCAbJqNIN3uz_FOjPrh7bONszLhntBzKUhKUnjsBwlz6H4mmpSeOrZnRypv99yuOBaifguAj97XnTYVsJY5PccC79-4WZ4KzYZnOVX1AUYVqkgTn9CQ8gaBV2uwAcFT5YGQWWmobEGlrps3ykrDcd18BFue52rvejjyLByFnpYowG/w480-h640/IMG-6599.JPG" width="480" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><h1 style="text-align: left;">#3 - Nakamise Shopping Street</h1><p>Just right outside the Sensoji Temple is a stretch of shopping street where you can purchase souvenirs, postcards or snacks. In those days, people will One of the famous snacks here is the melon pan - which is a sweet bread in a melon shape. It is the popular Odaiba hot spring resort. In my case, I went for affordable fine dining within walking distance from here. But I feel like I want to talk about the famous pasembur at Esplanade Food Court. When you step foot on the Esplanade food court, you will find a lot of stalls selling pasembur, but Gani is the only stall that stood out among the rest because of its striking signboard and also noticeably, the queue here is longer than the rest. </p><p></p><span><a name='more'></a></span><p><br /></p><p>Pasembur is one of the dish that you are obligated to try when you are in Penang. This dish truly embrace the Penang flavour. Unlike any other traditional dishes that attached to a certain race identity, pasembur is probably the only dish that mixed all the good stuff into one plate. This dish is a myriad of satay sauce derived from Malay food, fried fritters from Lok-lok originated from the Chinese, and shredded vegetables that resembling Malaysian rojak. Typically, pasembur is served by mamak (Indian-Muslim), but you can also find Chinese and Malay selling it around Penang. This dish unites all the elements of the different races in Penang, and that is why it is so unique. </p><p><br /></p><p>Back to Gani Pasembur - the price is pretty steep (for the locals) but tourists often praise this place as affordable or cheap. That's something to argue about. But in terms of taste, Gani has a unique reddish sauce and its fragrance sets it different from the rest of the players. </p><p><br /></p><p>There's a special unspoken rule for order here. Just line up, grab a plate and pick up whatever dish you want. You don't have to speak to the waiter. After you are done picking, pass the plate to them and let them know the table number you are seated (definitely need more than 1 person to order). They will add the shredded vegetables (consist of cucumber and white turnip) and the sauce on top of your plate. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyVLdF2gK02ZSm_KQkhHy5usMEGZGhbT9kGaCOh0TJqFgI2s6JvW_LGlUEYASt2ugeG5ufbJlBbVhzCs6z6Tl7RfmC42MDoS51wM4Tyg0Yrjsfxtns3nyMYkb2dbjeKX46MXc_idSxnCGwCytGEdQsU5_codmvTbQvPe92fWpbJ5CipH-NM4VjgWtm/s4032/IMG-4144.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyVLdF2gK02ZSm_KQkhHy5usMEGZGhbT9kGaCOh0TJqFgI2s6JvW_LGlUEYASt2ugeG5ufbJlBbVhzCs6z6Tl7RfmC42MDoS51wM4Tyg0Yrjsfxtns3nyMYkb2dbjeKX46MXc_idSxnCGwCytGEdQsU5_codmvTbQvPe92fWpbJ5CipH-NM4VjgWtm/w480-h640/IMG-4144.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnFxKLUE2Gbw6kc0Bhjp8h881Z_xXPO3Wna2TNz4Nyds6rQIFuWiREJCYwmf4KLMBHVgDdqlD4-OjphaBpeLdeuzj8TevXAw0SEO_NcoPUigqJwFSAtVhy9ejgrO5O4BfpT5yQdTziuZl1Mj1372pSiC-qjFELdeuDtNUHfVG_BRa8gt6WL45PQU84/s4032/IMG-4150.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnFxKLUE2Gbw6kc0Bhjp8h881Z_xXPO3Wna2TNz4Nyds6rQIFuWiREJCYwmf4KLMBHVgDdqlD4-OjphaBpeLdeuzj8TevXAw0SEO_NcoPUigqJwFSAtVhy9ejgrO5O4BfpT5yQdTziuZl1Mj1372pSiC-qjFELdeuDtNUHfVG_BRa8gt6WL45PQU84/w640-h480/IMG-4150.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4hPnHsQroCacc6nw9D5g0RVBzhQ_M_Iizm5gBe-vaOr7c6PPzusnzYkr_9ruRQsZzHCPHVqSAdL2yGapcd-fbRUHcUlaa48GEcvhjh0ZPlOFBKnVcsCaETVNN5ZGTgi0lzCAlAQpqdWmO4CVwBmD6NoSNdj7oHsn-8QCG5Na7nBKsAhxCHB2oeBXr/s4032/IMG-4151.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4hPnHsQroCacc6nw9D5g0RVBzhQ_M_Iizm5gBe-vaOr7c6PPzusnzYkr_9ruRQsZzHCPHVqSAdL2yGapcd-fbRUHcUlaa48GEcvhjh0ZPlOFBKnVcsCaETVNN5ZGTgi0lzCAlAQpqdWmO4CVwBmD6NoSNdj7oHsn-8QCG5Na7nBKsAhxCHB2oeBXr/w640-h480/IMG-4151.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>This is what you will get:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQdLwO4xV2qlItXPHp9qLsFqLyNldrGB9pKN0JRDUmgP7keh74mUrR95dla40Mxz8UojZi_l0xC9001qRGaVxVG0KbtapOpGQ6aYmGQ4KBjl6wKPrXTVps40mVJcolCPz-V_uZt-D3hNLH8EV7NZlMK3eY7vRKZrs6oFey82VRxqr1xHIbDC1M9zUI/s4032/IMG-4145.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQdLwO4xV2qlItXPHp9qLsFqLyNldrGB9pKN0JRDUmgP7keh74mUrR95dla40Mxz8UojZi_l0xC9001qRGaVxVG0KbtapOpGQ6aYmGQ4KBjl6wKPrXTVps40mVJcolCPz-V_uZt-D3hNLH8EV7NZlMK3eY7vRKZrs6oFey82VRxqr1xHIbDC1M9zUI/w640-h480/IMG-4145.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>Ordering drinks can be quite challenging. I notice that a lot of people didn't confirm their attendance and just head to the vaccination center. They won't be able to serve you as they only provide enough vaccines to those who confirmed their attendance. This first station also serves as a Q&A counter, so those problematic citizens are the ones who hold up the queue. Please be patient and queue accordingly. </p><p>Important tips: Make sure you click “<i><b>confirm</b></i>” on your MySejahtera app once the scheduled date appears. Do keep in mind that you have the right to ask the nurse to show you the vaccine veil before and after the injection. This is to confirm that they have fully injected the vaccine. </p><p><br /></p><h2 style="text-align: left;">Station 5</h2><p>The last station is the observation station. You will need to wait around 15 minutes and the medical staff will check your body temperature and also BP level. If the reading is abnormal, you will be asked to stay for another 15 minutes. If the problem is severe, you might be sent to the nearest hospital. </p><p>From my observation, no one was sent to the hospital and everyone cleared the observation smoothly. </p><p>The side effects might occur much later. So, do prepare some Paracentamols (Pandanol, Uphamol, etc.) if fever developed. Other than that, dizziness and a fast heartbeat are pretty common too. Remember to report the side effects on the MySejahtera app so that on the second dose, they are able to check it. </p><p><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;">_____</p><h1 style="text-align: left;">Second dose process:</h1><p></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>The process is the same, except you will skip the consent station. </li><li>Make sure you check the vaccination certificate in MySejahtera. Just show the police the MySejahtera app on the schedule. However, if you are staying in a different house, you need to apply for a travel permit from the police. </p><p><br /></p><p><span style="background-color: #fce5cd;">How long does it take?</span></p><p>The actual process takes less than half-hour from station 2 to station 5. The only problem occurs at the first station as a lot of clueless people holding up the queue. Your luck will be depending on the traffic at the first station. </p><p><br /></p><p><span style="background-color: #fce5cd;">Do you need to accompany the elderly?</span></p><p>It depends. If the person knows how to read, write and speak in English or Malay then he or she will be alright. If no, you need to accompany them as the procedure at the consent stage can be tricky. If you have registered him or her as a dependant on MySejahtera vaccination, it is highly recommended that you go along as you need to scan the QR code. Otherwise, the person can also take a photo and send it to you to scan it. </p><p><br /></p><p>Overall I think the vaccination process is a breeze. Everything went smoothly. I am impressed and amazed that the health ministry is able to set this up in such a short period of time. And the MySejahtera app is really user-friendly and useful. Even my friend in the US is amazed by our system. </p><p>My grandmother also didn't develop any side effects. She's able to function normally throughout the day.</p><p>All the praises aside, I am still waiting for my vaccination schedule. I've been registered since March and I still haven't gotten my slot. I hope I can get it soon as I need to go to the office to work and I want to be protected. </p>Jerinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13091400506681129015noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7375402090478173838.post-41998001683405370152021-02-08T23:29:00.007+08:002021-02-14T23:31:38.189+08:00What to pack and prepare for Covid-19 quarantine<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgapbNYdWB-s7J-C0k3RiQhjGRIMXrO6sNxImcayTNlKFYXzrcz1aM51wBloMStEdeMEWtBo7Ac2bYI6E_YyL_levS0WDWfzEHo0u18YqH5xLX35M1aLVkkponzqZF_A5L8L5nLVNtUxeI/s1912/covid.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1343" data-original-width="1912" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgapbNYdWB-s7J-C0k3RiQhjGRIMXrO6sNxImcayTNlKFYXzrcz1aM51wBloMStEdeMEWtBo7Ac2bYI6E_YyL_levS0WDWfzEHo0u18YqH5xLX35M1aLVkkponzqZF_A5L8L5nLVNtUxeI/w640-h450/covid.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p><br /></p><p>With the pandemic not putting to rest anytime soon, this blog is becoming obsolete. I had a mission to keep this as a travel blog to record my whereabouts, but now it doesn’t seems like I have much to write about. Moreover, we are going on lockdown mode once again. </p><p>The situation in my country (Malaysia) is getting worse each day. Although we are hopeful because our front liners are really fighting very hard, as a normal citizen, I have to stay vigilant. That means, while following all the SOPs laid down by the government, I have to acknowledge the fact that I too, can contract the virus at any time. </p><p>Hence, I’m preparing this list of stuff to bring in case I get called by the government to check-in into the quarantine center. </p><p>I think the most important thing to do is to assign someone reliable to take care of your responsibilities while you are away. In my case, I have notified my brother - he is to ensure all my grandmother's daily welfare is taken care of. And making sure the bills are paid on time, replenish groceries weekly and to do basic cleaning at home. </p><p><br /></p><p>What to pack for the quarantine? I am pretty sure the beddings aren't that clean. </li><li><b><i>Sanitary pads </i></b></li><li><b><i>Hobby items</i></b> - I'll pack some books, journal, watercolour and my pencil case. This will help passing time easier.</li></ul>Do let me know what you would pack for quarantine. <p></p>Jerinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13091400506681129015noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7375402090478173838.post-51454355429525157592020-12-27T00:01:00.001+08:002020-12-27T00:01:02.829+08:00Recipe: Fried Penang Asam Laksa<p> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3yBdpSiJ71afXBpxxOIJcprxjkc4J79CswBKYj9JIZ-iDTOhjd5YkX7yNqBr2_z7hQd-FqbWV9gJ2N7qrW7cu9ENnmA9pL3uukd21Qu-HImWFl6RkD8xBI5NMDayDfHNv8LB9jeIfvrg/s2048/fried+laksa+recipe+%25281%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1151" data-original-width="2048" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3yBdpSiJ71afXBpxxOIJcprxjkc4J79CswBKYj9JIZ-iDTOhjd5YkX7yNqBr2_z7hQd-FqbWV9gJ2N7qrW7cu9ENnmA9pL3uukd21Qu-HImWFl6RkD8xBI5NMDayDfHNv8LB9jeIfvrg/w640-h360/fried+laksa+recipe+%25281%2529.JPG" width="640" /></a><br /><br /></p><p>I suddenly had cravings for the Subang SS14 fried asam laksa from Well Cook Gourmet Restaurant. My family keeps refilling their plate, which is a good sign.</p><p>If you're looking for a twist to the regular asam laksa, you can try this fried asam laksa recipe. It is so simple and it doesn't take much time to prepare and cook. You can try this for pot luck as the non-cook ingredients can be prepared the day before. It’s probably my last time as well because I wasn't prepared to be part of the crowd that might form another Covid-19 cluster in the nation. As such, my trip remained only at the hotel, at least we did stay in an amazing hotel so it wasn't that bad. </p><p>My partner and I, we both love Cameron Highlands. We have our spots for great food and of course, the pleasant weather is always welcoming us. We made it a point to discover different hotels in Cameron each year, and this year we pick the Smokehouse. </p><span><a name='more'></a></span><p><br /></p><p></p><blockquote>Also read: <a href="https://www.hertravelogue.com/2018/07/hotel-review-cameron-highlands-resort.html" target="_blank">Cameron Highlands Resort</a></blockquote><a href="https://www.hertravelogue.com/2018/07/hotel-review-cameron-highlands-resort.html" target="_blank"></a><p></p><p>Let me begin with a brief history of this hotel. It was opened in 1937 by a British owner who replicates the old English concept into this piece of property. Essentially, it was a home-away-from-home for the British in Malaysia. The property has the first running hot water at that time (it was very much necessary considering it was very cold back then in Cameron Highlands). The local Malaysians weren't welcomed at the property until it was acquired by a local businessman in 1977. Since then, all guests (who can pay) are welcomed here. </p><p>I can list a handful of attractions why you should consider The Smokehouse for your next visit to Cameron Highlands:</p><p><br /></p><h1 style="text-align: left;">The English Experience</h1><p>It is quintessentially British. Its structure, decor, foods, and services represent the old English where you can find in the suburbs of London. You don't have to go far for that piece of England. Hence, at times like this when we can't travel overseas, this would be the best option for a mini getaway. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUK2ACnotyh8UMskQXS6Lq3L8HonMFSQMr4riM3y-nj19dAcYP4S_W8mCG7kDJKFEGO9HrscFjfNJ2qWsvzKWcEl4Sblr-h6uoWq3iXiGVZpxXWs3CKidg-VkNEK7wt1B0jGslZbOqGEk/s960/115750563_10158662945184432_7950541518674157551_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="652" data-original-width="960" height="434" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUK2ACnotyh8UMskQXS6Lq3L8HonMFSQMr4riM3y-nj19dAcYP4S_W8mCG7kDJKFEGO9HrscFjfNJ2qWsvzKWcEl4Sblr-h6uoWq3iXiGVZpxXWs3CKidg-VkNEK7wt1B0jGslZbOqGEk/w640-h434/115750563_10158662945184432_7950541518674157551_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><h1 style="text-align: left;">Come for the architecture</h1><p>The entire building structure is authentic Tudor architecture, which is really rare these days, especially in Malaysia. Being able to stay in one is actually a privilege. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3sH2zSi9RLMR_pKTsIJRtHSl8hXlHDy6qXFpDN1aDvDvZ66xa-WwOstGlxCT3_UWmrnLshyphenhyphenDizuMlyn5lVQgos_C870z7zHncI_r56wBwBDbmeebhAmOIZLDENV6abzJ29NmpCeQTYZs/s960/111521762_10158662943624432_5417010115785244700_n.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="768" data-original-width="960" height="512" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3sH2zSi9RLMR_pKTsIJRtHSl8hXlHDy6qXFpDN1aDvDvZ66xa-WwOstGlxCT3_UWmrnLshyphenhyphenDizuMlyn5lVQgos_C870z7zHncI_r56wBwBDbmeebhAmOIZLDENV6abzJ29NmpCeQTYZs/w640-h512/111521762_10158662943624432_5417010115785244700_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>This was the old front entrance</i></div><h1 style="text-align: left;">Enjoy the secret garden</h1><p>The property has an award-winning garden that is accessible by guests only. The older rooms at the main building have some squeaky wooden floor sound, water pressure issue (sometimes) and the furniture are also old. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj34qEmlIPCK6UAOIHlO2xlYy_vKBsqHfu3yGiAinGBEd1aOS9RSwOQp8Q002wpeMzsEjOAd9IRVYqhJV6EheO8IA1BdiXQLZBZSGDn6VeCP63NEUSmPVXNax_LsSdFJXQCTKT63HEzebQ/s960/110266960_10158662951274432_6875710550149322715_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="960" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj34qEmlIPCK6UAOIHlO2xlYy_vKBsqHfu3yGiAinGBEd1aOS9RSwOQp8Q002wpeMzsEjOAd9IRVYqhJV6EheO8IA1BdiXQLZBZSGDn6VeCP63NEUSmPVXNax_LsSdFJXQCTKT63HEzebQ/w640-h480/110266960_10158662951274432_6875710550149322715_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Our room at the terrace</i></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdgkzzgBEhJL0P3sD7RpFYnGjx99YMyAvtRDzHUyjzkK5JyuMX9eZM34FS_IOJODUsRLiQEGvd2L_LWLgJKq59Djmu1LwaQ3fZgraMzbk0b-mvV_Es4e4v8t_dU57npm9SzVHZW5Yeg6c/s960/108953837_10158662951789432_2591871131030524096_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="960" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdgkzzgBEhJL0P3sD7RpFYnGjx99YMyAvtRDzHUyjzkK5JyuMX9eZM34FS_IOJODUsRLiQEGvd2L_LWLgJKq59Djmu1LwaQ3fZgraMzbk0b-mvV_Es4e4v8t_dU57npm9SzVHZW5Yeg6c/w640-h480/108953837_10158662951789432_2591871131030524096_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Modern vintage furniture</i></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGvVPJANa3AxnuM73IT44jG7x6gSJIE-OLDYrKPACMzpO-bElQ9OzkHmiGzfjJkP3v9eTxLVvOrUobnspPFe7DYjA_XZz0bieBTZKquB26MOYQKJkSKo7UDqEdmTP48LB4eOFnRJMXTrw/s960/113458891_10158662951709432_5308549554901102456_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="960" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGvVPJANa3AxnuM73IT44jG7x6gSJIE-OLDYrKPACMzpO-bElQ9OzkHmiGzfjJkP3v9eTxLVvOrUobnspPFe7DYjA_XZz0bieBTZKquB26MOYQKJkSKo7UDqEdmTP48LB4eOFnRJMXTrw/w640-h480/113458891_10158662951709432_5308549554901102456_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Modern bathroom</i></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT3k3HyR0SM2EODIFa3ktS6-wU-U1fbx12KB6Zbvvwahndw1Byk1fnRYbXuDM4Xrii5ubepA2lJnS9eoLRQRgrKPTEMLhOllIkRAuHuxLdRt6AoTxN97-4k8V2rtr8AdISw2iLUwpNzj4/s960/115844446_10158662951529432_5977078008952112879_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="960" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT3k3HyR0SM2EODIFa3ktS6-wU-U1fbx12KB6Zbvvwahndw1Byk1fnRYbXuDM4Xrii5ubepA2lJnS9eoLRQRgrKPTEMLhOllIkRAuHuxLdRt6AoTxN97-4k8V2rtr8AdISw2iLUwpNzj4/w640-h480/115844446_10158662951529432_5977078008952112879_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Quality toiletries</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: left;">I am looking forward to come back again to have tea in the garden while enjoying the forest breeze.</div>Jerinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13091400506681129015noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7375402090478173838.post-29456490718037122612020-07-29T00:37:00.003+08:002020-07-29T23:26:58.206+08:00Penang Opening It's First Family Mart and Here are The Stuff You Need to Try<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8wIDyzvDnoyp7jZgFniVarrwIWTFU7UWMjvonTQ8ckjTtliW3ODTXf2t4uBuuKElbuFyYvTcP_RZw3taVj6-cImJKb1Yi_C4cDnWx_zUYGZ-frJhuLKHhpNMXdKTCOIdlpKJe87fCGsA/s1667/IMG-4328.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1667" data-original-width="1667" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8wIDyzvDnoyp7jZgFniVarrwIWTFU7UWMjvonTQ8ckjTtliW3ODTXf2t4uBuuKElbuFyYvTcP_RZw3taVj6-cImJKb1Yi_C4cDnWx_zUYGZ-frJhuLKHhpNMXdKTCOIdlpKJe87fCGsA/w400-h400/IMG-4328.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Unless you are living in a cave, you probably know the great convenience store from Japan - Family Mart. If you don’t feel like driving so far, here’s a place for seafood located just right on the outskirts of Georgetown.<div><br /></div><div></div><blockquote><div><b><i>Location: </i></b>401, Jalan Dato Keramat, George Town, Penang</div><div><b><i>Business hour:</i></b> Opens daily, 5:00PM - 3:00AM</div><div><b><i>Price range:</i></b> Price varies </div><div><b><i>Halal: </i></b>No</div></blockquote><div></div><span><a name='more'></a></span><div><br /></div><div>The first time I hear the name “<a href="https://www.facebook.com/hamisupenang" target="_blank">Hamisu</a>”, I find it intriguing. I didn’t know it’s a seafood restaurant. It seems to me, sounded more like a speakeasy or a quirky cafe. Previously this place is known as 385 Prawning & Thai Restaurant. I'm not sure when they've changed the name. The prawning facility is still around. If you are interested to catch your own prawn, you can still do so at Hamisu. </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiELL9SrKbYtSJmpa_PhsgOfN5nym6upwBqw_nTpnJ-sEQunP00CjJmsWVX3JKnEb2Tex2uBNvgn5jGvzvt_GyoqJ1ta1UoATGnlczPBzTPLqt9ejILsz4E9emM6rgaX8PtFBixiYKyW_s/s2048/hamisu+%25283%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiELL9SrKbYtSJmpa_PhsgOfN5nym6upwBqw_nTpnJ-sEQunP00CjJmsWVX3JKnEb2Tex2uBNvgn5jGvzvt_GyoqJ1ta1UoATGnlczPBzTPLqt9ejILsz4E9emM6rgaX8PtFBixiYKyW_s/w640-h480/hamisu+%25283%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Hamisu means “What’s up” from Hokkien language, commonly used amongst the Penangites. </div><div><br /></div><div>The prawning activity isn’t my jam, so let’s get straight to the food.</div><div><br /></div><div>I highly recommend this place because it is value for money. I wouldn’t say it is cheap because it depends on what you order. However, the price is reasonable for seafood, and especially in Penang (where most places are expensive). </div><div><br /></div><div>On the top of the list to order is the Sauna Prawn. The dish is so simple - tiger prawns cooked in a pot filled with charcoal. The cooking methods bring out the sweetness of the prawns while maintaining its juiciness. </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFykxCAJDUilpG61EItRrmFEwkk-tGPtCey5zXRbbZLft9uhw8hfH1DSdHezsJyp5oKuM-TGOp_4vuFlTEzDQnH7Mcvw4ddYS0c4ixsMr4B7ZXBUzR86iQkiIy8TpztPMgXkI0Pl4wLQs/s640/IMG-2964.gif" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="640" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFykxCAJDUilpG61EItRrmFEwkk-tGPtCey5zXRbbZLft9uhw8hfH1DSdHezsJyp5oKuM-TGOp_4vuFlTEzDQnH7Mcvw4ddYS0c4ixsMr4B7ZXBUzR86iQkiIy8TpztPMgXkI0Pl4wLQs/w640-h360/IMG-2964.gif" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxdCiv229pv8UIjyumCYR8Yn-Rvncc06ffCbWlJFJUJptlEwgtaPkIcpauU0HPxBXXF0EFbXtCf78m9eL3DRA-gngwkiS5wBhWtdK_8l11uP20YcACFpLWzsqU7bkrMnZhkpEOm5Ehmww/s2048/IMG-2970.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxdCiv229pv8UIjyumCYR8Yn-Rvncc06ffCbWlJFJUJptlEwgtaPkIcpauU0HPxBXXF0EFbXtCf78m9eL3DRA-gngwkiS5wBhWtdK_8l11uP20YcACFpLWzsqU7bkrMnZhkpEOm5Ehmww/w640-h480/IMG-2970.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>Another thing on the menu that I would recommend is the Shell-Out set. Unlike other shell-out restaurants, this place allows you to pick and choose the dishes you want. There are also different types of sauce to choose from - Kam Heong, Chilli, sweet & sour, etc. I like the shell-out here because they put it on top of the banana leaf instead of right on top of the table. So it isn't so dirty. </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxhrVB7CBy_E6ZxhvV6OVE6U1Ap_LEkCSX6yTXMRgLJDeDiEJIbMwPV1_gRF3O13VuDzaLNu5y3to9xT65lOn5Xc8WRvEbqodZ2ZwZM1mgrfGIfGfo9C3-XVjDkhbMTfvOWgDxrTbZ2vE/s2048/hamisu+%25286%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxhrVB7CBy_E6ZxhvV6OVE6U1Ap_LEkCSX6yTXMRgLJDeDiEJIbMwPV1_gRF3O13VuDzaLNu5y3to9xT65lOn5Xc8WRvEbqodZ2ZwZM1mgrfGIfGfo9C3-XVjDkhbMTfvOWgDxrTbZ2vE/w640-h480/hamisu+%25286%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>For those odd ones who don’t eat seafood, you can still enjoy other dishes. Adding on to the stress, everyone is expected to adhere to the Covid-19 protocol, but some people had to make things complicated such as not lining up, do not follow social distancing, and not wearing masks. That is why it was quite an unpleasant experience. <div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><b><i></i></b></div><blockquote><div><b><i>Location</i></b>: Monkey Cup Farm, Summit Road, 11500, Penang Hill</div><div><b><i>Business hour</i></b>: Open daily 9:00AM - 6:00PM</div><div><b><i>Price range</i></b>: RM8-RM20</div><div><b><i>Halal</i></b>: Yes</div></blockquote><div></div><span><a name='more'></a></span><div><br /></div><h1 style="text-align: left;">1. Locate your way to the Owl Museum, you will find plenty of buggy services that can take you up to the Kopi Hutan. </div><div><br /></div><div>A lot of reviews mentioned that the owner provides free transport with his 4x4, that depending on your luck and I think as long as it is crowded, it is impossible for the owner to shuttle you over. </div><div><br /></div><div>Alternatively you can walk for 1.5km towards the direction of the Habitat. It was a pleasant walk even with my sandal. The route is scenic, with a lot of English villa to discover. I spotted a lot of unique plants and wild life along the way. </div></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Here's an advice... if you are going on the weekend, do get the fast pass. It cost RM40 (RM28 more than the regular pass for locals), but it was worth it. Albeit the cafe is very casual and laidback, the food quality is uncompromising. The cafe is managed by the same group as Pinxin Vegan Cuisine, they use top quality ingredients and the food is made from passionate vegan chefs. While Pinxin targets family and skewed towards Asian cuisine, Wholey Wonder takes another approach where it is more Westernized. </div><div><br /></div><div>This cafe takes a holistic approach to promote a healthy lifestyle. Not only it is a vegan cafe, but the second floor is also a yoga studio. The less-active me is here for the food only. But if you are interested, the yoga studio is open for everyone. The first thing I did when I came back to Penang is to look for a nice vegetarian/vegan restaurant. While in <a href="https://www.hertravelogue.com/2020/03/4-vegetarian-restaurants-in-melaka-to.html" target="_blank">Melaka, I have a list of my favourite vegan/vegetarian restaurants</a>, now I have to discover more vegetarian restaurants in Penang as I expand my territory. The first restaurant I've been to is PinXin. This is a vegan restaurant, so it is suitable for vegetarians as well.<br />

The first thing I noticed when I came to PinXin is the price. I was amazed that the prices on the menu are pretty affordable. It is compatible to the average non-vegetarian restaurant. Usually, vegan restaurants are expensive due to the lengthy preparation and costly ingredients. However, Pin Xin is able to maintain a reasonable price, at the same time use only premium ingredients that are natural and organic.</div><div><br /></div><div>
In most cases, vegan restaurants use mock-meat or artificial meat in their dishes to keep the cost low and also to attract non-vegetarian so they have a bigger customer base. However, Pin Xin doesn’t do that. The hiericium mushrooms (lion’s mane mushroom) became an alternative to the mock-meat in Pinxin's dishes. The mushroom is a healthier option with no preservatives and MSG.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKDgRnm66W8ot0WAqGzHUzBaKVAsFppm6xovoRT08dJGcAAKxB_eknUNnauideDkyl886SvYbEwlQsvEml67q1VFHqwMYg9isUFp99MivmYzoEtCT9OK4cTj_41mdOCLucsTdKa8WnSYk/s4032/IMG-7279.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKDgRnm66W8ot0WAqGzHUzBaKVAsFppm6xovoRT08dJGcAAKxB_eknUNnauideDkyl886SvYbEwlQsvEml67q1VFHqwMYg9isUFp99MivmYzoEtCT9OK4cTj_41mdOCLucsTdKa8WnSYk/w640-h480/IMG-7279.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Buddhaful Passion Bowl</i></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-Vj7T4TuygGFv247CWvPsVXZ9BId2k1fOSitb-xX1pkX0iBYjPQD6bvtmcfc_mL9OfsTJWIqkWdLK7u7o84I_jqTnhf6zxcq8qHQdL_TXTeYoVl8D6DX5PZ4yKn6V6egBKHxlxlUj5XI/s4032/IMG-7281.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-Vj7T4TuygGFv247CWvPsVXZ9BId2k1fOSitb-xX1pkX0iBYjPQD6bvtmcfc_mL9OfsTJWIqkWdLK7u7o84I_jqTnhf6zxcq8qHQdL_TXTeYoVl8D6DX5PZ4yKn6V6egBKHxlxlUj5XI/w640-h480/IMG-7281.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Penang Asam Laksa</i></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAd4nNioqBpRpBx0sqkKyolfmZZm6i6krFOSbJ6l7S-_agD0SduoLbEEICcRqH6nhoybq-vYifKFWvNNtICOBUciTHB3jOPbq46Alnp3VBlHMyzpXTb3-U2ee-y-Rd4IlKHrgfFK3-P2Y/s4032/IMG-7282.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAd4nNioqBpRpBx0sqkKyolfmZZm6i6krFOSbJ6l7S-_agD0SduoLbEEICcRqH6nhoybq-vYifKFWvNNtICOBUciTHB3jOPbq46Alnp3VBlHMyzpXTb3-U2ee-y-Rd4IlKHrgfFK3-P2Y/w640-h480/IMG-7282.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Satay Sticks</i></div><div>

Pin Xin also does local delivery within Penang Island via GrabFood and also they have their own runners. You can order directly at their website <a href="https://pinxinvegan.com/pages/food-delivery">https://pinxinvegan.com/pages/food-delivery</a> or through GrabFood. For the full menu, you can browse through their <a href="https://www.instagram.com/pinxinmenu/" target="_blank">Instagram page</a>. <br />
<br /><h2 style="text-align: left;">What I love about Pin Xin:</h2><ul><li>The reasonable price is definitely worth to come back for.</li><li>The interior is very cozy and presentable.</li><li>They use only premium ingredients in their food.</li><li>The taste is as good as non-vegetarian food - this is definitely a good place to bring your vegan & non-vegan friends together.</li></ul><br />
During the MCO period, I got too lazy to cook and ordered my dinner from them. My vegan meal looks so fancy with wine pairing. </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSPyXwaEuH_LDAuvMFbqFCeG9AetVEmvyb_hOSg7-lZhAhH9FmnGUPzccfVmI7VlAQ6OwZOwnGCHx8zeSegQIrWjR2IvXRf7j3scY_jXi5gImJEHaunGyClMVASI0L79Kz1CGQW24qgyQ/s1440/E5B8CDAB-F401-4E58-B34F-17B61440EB9C+%25281%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1440" data-original-width="1440" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSPyXwaEuH_LDAuvMFbqFCeG9AetVEmvyb_hOSg7-lZhAhH9FmnGUPzccfVmI7VlAQ6OwZOwnGCHx8zeSegQIrWjR2IvXRf7j3scY_jXi5gImJEHaunGyClMVASI0L79Kz1CGQW24qgyQ/w640-h640/E5B8CDAB-F401-4E58-B34F-17B61440EB9C+%25281%2529.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3-zgKsk7NPGnhYrcPX5TikE77MZhXb0xD0H5tnzMMS7jYpjS-kg4mIIkc1vqmT8vDpkPxhN_YNZtdHpFHqypVoF-VqGv1O6Wo6s6urDYBJa4QnoO77XMmqoXNJJMqu4znh_Cu6iwGHos/s2293/IMG-8537.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2293" data-original-width="2293" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3-zgKsk7NPGnhYrcPX5TikE77MZhXb0xD0H5tnzMMS7jYpjS-kg4mIIkc1vqmT8vDpkPxhN_YNZtdHpFHqypVoF-VqGv1O6Wo6s6urDYBJa4QnoO77XMmqoXNJJMqu4znh_Cu6iwGHos/w640-h640/IMG-8537.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>I ordered direct from PinXin which subject to their delivery time. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The <a href="https://bit.ly/2XaKCpu" target="_blank">menstrual cup</a> is a popular item from the zero-waste department lately. When this product was introduced two years back, it was completely mindblown. At that time I had an online store that sold zero-waste products and the menstrual cup was one that keeps selling out. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Before I begin the review, let's use the nomenclature "orchid" to represent our female body part.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div><span><a name='more'></a></span>
<h1 style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Application</h1>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The application of the <a href="https://bit.ly/2M9kYep" target="_blank">menstrual cup</a> is easy. Because the product is made of silicone, it can be shaped into smaller insert when you're putting it into your orchid. However, it does take one or two practice before you can get used to it. Also, you might need to adjust a few times to get the sweet spot, so the more you use it, the easier it is to put on. When you are using it the first time, it is advisable to sanitize the menstrual cup. Alternatively, you can just run hot water from the shower to kill unwanted germs and bacterias. This video gives a good demonstration of how to apply the menstrual cup. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/o9fPUfm-uYE" width="560"></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<h1 style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Is it comfortable?</h1>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
From my personal experience, it is <span style="font-size: x-large;">NOT COMFORTABLE.</span> I personally think that our vulva is different, hence the standard menstrual cup isn't going to work for everyone. Also, it depends on your insertion method. Sometimes the cup doesn't flip open, so I had to get it out and putting it again several times. While you're doing that, blood gushing out from the inside. It is not a pleasant experience at all. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In my case, I have a heavy flow, so it is really troublesome to apply and constantly cleaning it. I also think that my orchid has a small opening, hence making the cup hard to insert and also open once it is inside. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I think that the question of whether it is comfortable or not - that depends on individual circumstances. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">

</blockquote>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<h1 style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sensitivity/allergy concern</h1>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
One of the reasons I am ditching the menstrual cup is because I have a sensitive orchid. It gets really itchy whenever I put it in. I've tried 2 different brands and the result is still the same. The second one is from <a href="https://bit.ly/36HvT8r" target="_blank">Diva Cup</a> which is the Birkin of menstrual cup. I get the same experience with tampons, so it isn't surprising that I can't use the menstrual cup comfortably. If you experience allergy with tampons as well, you might want to reconsider the menstrual cup.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also think that because it creates the vacuum, bacterias and germs can't escape our orchid. So it starts irritating your skin. Because of this, I don't think it is hygienic to continue using it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<h1 style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Is it convenient?</h1>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My answer to this is <span style="font-size: x-large;">NO!</span> Imagine having to clean the cup every time you shower (in most of the promo statement, brands tend to tell you that you only need to remove it once a day or a few days). The thing that holds the cup onto its place is the vacuum you create when inserting the cup. And the vacuum can break and cause leakage. Don't buy in into the ads that it won't leak. It <span style="font-size: x-large;">WILL!</span> depending on your sitting position, the daily activities, and also the structure of your vulva. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
From my two cents - I think that during our period, we already feel disgusted with what's going on underneath. The hormone also causing us mood swings and this whole imbalanced thing is already a <span style="font-size: x-large;">BAD EXPERIENCE,</span> to begin with. With the menstrual cup, it creates even more complication and I think I just can't handle it!!! As much as I want to save the environment, I don't think the menstrual cup really helps. I'd rather trade with not eating meat for the rest of my life than using the menstrual cup to the day I menopause. There are so many things you can do to save our planet from pollution, and menstrual cup isn't worth being on the top of the list. So I'm not buying the entire save-the-planet-with-menstrual-cup tagline. I'm not using the menstrual cup ever. Period! #punintended </div>

<br />
I've been so slack in updating the MCO story because the new normal is already a norm normal for me. I was expecting this to be a 14-day affair, that turned out to be 28 days and now.... we're on the 3rd phase (additional 14 days). Our independence day has been brought to 29th May 2020, and looking at the statistic, I don't think there is any chance we will be released soon.<br />
<br /><br /><br />
<u><b>From my speculation:</b></u><br />
<br />
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>New Covid-19 cases have not drop to below 100 cases per day</li>
<li>New cluster of cases still happening</li>
<li>People are defying the MCO orders</li>
<li>Hari raya coming soon, government might further extend MCO to prevent Hari Raya visiting</li>
</ul>
<br />
<br />
With that, I can assume that we might be on lockdown til end of May or early June. While this is happening, my job security is deteriorating. One, we're forced to take half day leave each day until 28th May. Since I'm a new hire, I don't have any leave in my pocket, so I'll be getting pay cut.<br />
<br />
<br />
I'm rolling out a new project now (which is also the reason why I don't update this blog so often). I've also enrolled 2 staffs to help out in this project - namely my brother and my cousin. Will reveal more info soon. </div><span><!--more--></span><span><!--more--></span><span><!--more--></span>

<br />
Today I want to do a food review. This instant dim sum is <span style="font-size: x-large;">EXTREMELY GOOD!!!</span> It tastes exactly like the one from the restaurant. No kidding.<br />
<br /><br />
<a name='more'></a>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Times like these, getting dim sum for breakfast is a treat. The fried prawn roll is the best of all, but the rests such as the siu mai and custard buns taste as good as the ones from the shop. I could only find from the grocery the siu mai, fried prawn roll and custard bun. They do have other dim sum stuff such as crab claw siu mai, glutinous rice in lotus leaf, crystal skin prawn dim sum, radish cake and many more. The next time I do grocery I will stock up like lotttttsssss of dim sum from the Ocean Planet aisle.<br />
<br />
Do check it out in the freezer section in your local supermarket or grocery. It is a certified halal. You'll thank me.<br />
<br />

Yesterday we had the health officers to come to our place to sanitize the apartment. Thank you, officers! You know, I'm glad I'm living in Malaysia. Our healthcare is so much better than the first world country. And we have strategy and system to combat the Covid-19 problem, unlike other countries that snowballing over each day.<br />

<br />
I notice that a lot of people still unsure what to do if you suspect that you catch the virus. First of all, you need to call the hotline. Please save these phone numbers in your contacts just in case.<br />
<a name='more'></a>
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-size: x-large;">03- 8881 0200</span><br />
<span style="color: red; font-size: x-large;">03- 8881 0600</span><br />
<span style="color: red; font-size: x-large;">03- 8881 0700</span><br />
<br />
You will be given a series of questions on your whereabouts and your contacts. It is important that you keep a record daily on who you met and where you have been to. You will be given instruction to go for test at the nearest lab. The health minister have designated lab for test. Just follow the instruction of the officer on the call. Previously they will send a health officer to take your sample at your house and send to the lab for testing. I guess we don't have the luxury anymore. All the resources have been taken up since the stats are going higher each day.<br />
<br />
After you have done that, do a self-isolation. If you can't afford to move to another house, keep in mind to quarantine yourself in a room and use your own toilet. Keep youself away from your family so not to infect another person. Wear a mask at all times and keep your living area clean. If you are positive, the ambulance will take you away.<br />
<br />
About costs of the test, it is approximately RM600. If you are confirmed positive, healthcare is free in Malaysia. You don't have the option of which hospital to be treated at. You will be put in ward together with other patients. So, don't assume you can have a single room or be treated at private hospital. If you're negative, you can claim RM300 from your insurance.<br />

<br />
When I started this daily account of my #Covid19Stories, I assumed the lockdown was going to last for 14 days. Now that everyday is a repetitive routine, I don't know what else to write about. Should I write recipes? Or my journal stuff?<br />
<a name='more'></a>
<br />
I'm not sure what to do for the next 14 days. I'm almost out of my mind. Now my daily routine is like:<br />
<br />
6:30am - Wake up<br />
7:00am - Shower & breakfast<br />
8:00am - Turn on laptop to work<br />
11:00am - Start cooking for lunch, lunch & cleaning<br />
1:00pm - Continue to work<br />
5:00pm - Start cooking for dinner, dinner & cleaning<br />
8:00pm - Watch drama & play with my baby<br />
9:00pm - Shower<br />
10:00pm - Practice Korean<br />
11:00pm - Read my book, or continue watching drama or writing on this blog<br />
<br />
And then it's a repeat all over again the next day.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhpnw9pYJjw4QvBHQ9OnqtJKgE7D-6LpjhzMb5PSiCWIttfPh2yVqCplL_pbFWuuEQbHvptoYxvhJI0Jtf8GgQugl-wsZB4oy3_bzmRnqwUiRDvO8cAfbenekmDTjgAen8TavH5C8x4nU/s1600/P1010039.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhpnw9pYJjw4QvBHQ9OnqtJKgE7D-6LpjhzMb5PSiCWIttfPh2yVqCplL_pbFWuuEQbHvptoYxvhJI0Jtf8GgQugl-wsZB4oy3_bzmRnqwUiRDvO8cAfbenekmDTjgAen8TavH5C8x4nU/s640/P1010039.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I can't stop worrying about my job. Today is the salary pay-out day. I kinda feel like I don't deserve the full salary because my productivity is really low. I feel like I didn't give my 100%, this is why I really hate working-from-home at such an early stage of my job in the new place. I feel like I still need a lot of training in terms of system, but at the same time, I can't complain because I'm experienced. WFH isn't the ideal situation for me at the moment, yet it is pointless for me to return to work since my colleagues are all WFH. Besides, I'm not in the best position while the economy is going down. My job security is hanging by a thread.<br />
<a name='more'></a>
<br />
To get my mind off work, which seems not so positive at the moment, I made myself a vision board. You can try it too.<br />
<br />
All you need is a cork board, wrapping paper, and stapler. It's also good to have scissors or pen knife to trime down the wrapping paper if it's too large. Simply wrap the wrapping paper around the cork board and the secure the back with stapler. When you're done, just pin up images of things you want or want to achieve.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixRM1PXAMpvtsj7xj-PlD-hdqhyphenhyphenZi2fl0TCmFKivDBrpn4O5SIzqAX8rldqG2RamTl1JQC2MH4i0dUsXl-nUM8xUVYiOm9svCiQX02LXkGOA0YoHHSwThlcPFyZO3YM966qFg_5ohepsY/s1600/P1010031.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1173" data-original-width="1600" height="468" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixRM1PXAMpvtsj7xj-PlD-hdqhyphenhyphenZi2fl0TCmFKivDBrpn4O5SIzqAX8rldqG2RamTl1JQC2MH4i0dUsXl-nUM8xUVYiOm9svCiQX02LXkGOA0YoHHSwThlcPFyZO3YM966qFg_5ohepsY/s640/P1010031.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In such bad times, where dreams are crushed and nothing seems progressing, it is good to manifest on what you desire. Hence the vision board (or mood board) does the job for keeping you focused. My vision board might seem trivial. I just want a Dior bag, to swim in deep-sea and to have my own art studio. It might seem like nothing, but it may take forever to achieve.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyQ4G2xVijSAKNZekBgvqHWoXsC6XFZkzsahpLQbon6l6L1IAA9CUFIZRKi_ay_lB9dGicszdb016pp6UhTpkAXoimws8y0ACH3udipmD0nAuWhxUVamQc6LgdawAOGS2qzPJ1L3znKYM/s1600/IMG+-7098071.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="418" data-original-width="541" height="492" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyQ4G2xVijSAKNZekBgvqHWoXsC6XFZkzsahpLQbon6l6L1IAA9CUFIZRKi_ay_lB9dGicszdb016pp6UhTpkAXoimws8y0ACH3udipmD0nAuWhxUVamQc6LgdawAOGS2qzPJ1L3znKYM/s640/IMG+-7098071.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I have nothing much to update. I guess "nothing much" is being part of my daily life for now. I watched the Itaewon Class till 5am the night before and woke up at 12pm. I completely ditch my responsibility to feed my family, and everyone had to eat biscuits for breakfast. LOL! I begin to miss my single life. Having people relying on you sucks.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>
<br />
Since I have no particular thing to update, I want to whine about rich people whining with reference to Vivy Yusuf. I admire her for her professional work as a woman entrepreneur, but I don't like her personality. She was complaining about the government's stimulus package that do not support SME.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4Q-a37fuudfYhH7fpNMD7wKYpClpEZq2kNnG83vTa83WSzBVuFyHp40YSCF8oFmNNIVjkn0ve42PjSuVyOKsyDNv3tVijn6NHzumEzcA2-Uw7TEPpZvz5HgPy69r4cd64_TZlSn5ewBs/s1600/safe_image.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="248" data-original-width="476" height="332" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4Q-a37fuudfYhH7fpNMD7wKYpClpEZq2kNnG83vTa83WSzBVuFyHp40YSCF8oFmNNIVjkn0ve42PjSuVyOKsyDNv3tVijn6NHzumEzcA2-Uw7TEPpZvz5HgPy69r4cd64_TZlSn5ewBs/s640/safe_image.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
First, by definition, her business isn't SME. She has multiple shops in prestigious malls. What the government focusing on is really small businesses like nasi lemak sellers by the roadside. She has no right to compare her business that yields millions compared to those who are looking for a few bucks a day to feed their family. Besides, she already has gotten so many government grants when in good times.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX0czsmrPImn9ijbreLufGnkdlZAhV_uoDzAKNle3EBdYZSBbqFBPhGtGfa8Ww6kfLlskrcs7Qq3ltgfZ7kuTGzpoKBP11bNPlbJ0m6zLNUJ6CJEDebqbGgv-mO6pEMx_K244QswdzcXc/s1600/Capture.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="880" data-original-width="806" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX0czsmrPImn9ijbreLufGnkdlZAhV_uoDzAKNle3EBdYZSBbqFBPhGtGfa8Ww6kfLlskrcs7Qq3ltgfZ7kuTGzpoKBP11bNPlbJ0m6zLNUJ6CJEDebqbGgv-mO6pEMx_K244QswdzcXc/s640/Capture.JPG" width="586" /></a></div>
<br />
Even after she apologized, I don't think she understands where she's coming from. The first words mostly reflect genuine thoughts and it delivers the energy to your audience, that's how people interpret your words. This is not the time to be jealous of what aid people get from the government. If you don't receive any financial aid, be thankful. That means you are doing much better than 80% of the population in the country.<br />
<br />
There are 2 types of rich people - one is inspiring and another one is pure breed elitists.<br />
<br />
<br />
P/S: If I wear tudung, I won't be supporting Duck anymore. I'd rather buy RM10 tudung from Bazaar Tok Guru even if it's not fashionable. If I wear tudung...<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
In Malaysia, we're left with 2.5 months of rice. That is not enough for all because the rich will hoard the supply and some sellers might hide it to sell when supply is low. This is a serious issue. We've not touched on the supplies of vegetables and meat. In other words, we're f**ked.<br />
<a name='more'></a>
<br />
This is also the reason why I've been converting to become vegetarian (currently I'm a pescatarian - I eat mostly vegetables and fish). Vegetables take a shorter time to be "matured" compared to livestock. And in such an unhealthy generation that we're living in, it is best to reduce food-borne illness which often carried in the DNA of animals. The only way to keep ourselves sustainable is to change our diet to plant-based foods.<br />
<br />
It's not even 2 weeks of the lockdown and I'm sick and tired of cooking. I think cleaning is the most tiring chores, so today I decided to call for delivery. I called Pinxin Vegan to send me some food and they did not disappoint.<br />

I'm totally digging in to the bolognese and charcoal burger. If you would like to try the food, you can contact them at <span style="background-color: white; color: #65756e; font-size: 16px;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">+604 261 0043</span></span>. It is free delivery within Penang Island for order above RM60. My order was around RM110 and the food caters for about 5 pax. The price is reasonable, cheaper than ordering GrabFood. Here are some discount codes for you:</div>

<li><i><b>Me: </b></i>Baby papa, after all these ordeal, let's go to <a href="https://www.hertravelogue.com/2019/12/penang-national-park-hike-to-turtle.html" target="_blank">Monkey Beach</a> </li>
<li><i><b>Baby papa:</b></i> After all these, I want to go somewhere further.</li>
<li><b><i>Me:</i></b> Where???</li>
<li><b><i>Baby papa:</i></b> <a href="https://www.hertravelogue.com/2018/05/places-to-eat-in-cameron-highlands.html" target="_blank">Cameron Highlands</a>.</li>
<li><b><i>Me:</i></b> I thought you're going to say Switzerland. </li>
<li><b><i>Baby papa: </i></b>Times like this, we have to contribute to our own country's economy. So Cameron Highlands!</li>
</ul>

<br />
I have to agree with him. So we'll put all the overseas travel aside for one or two years and focus on spending money internally.<br />
<br />
Today the Prime Minister announced an initiative to stimulate the country's economy by giving out lots of freebies. His tagline is "nobody will be left behind", but as he was presenting the package, my group was the one left behind. None of my family members is entitled to it as well. Maybe, the 2% discount on electricity and free internet, but that's all.<br />
<br />
Times like this, I don't know whether to feel fortunate or unfortunate. If I don't receive anything, that means I fall under the T20 (the 20% top earner in the country. Malaysia categorize the group into T20, M40 and B40). Unfortunately, I don't feel like I belong to the T20 group. So I made some calculations. Turns out, I am paying taxes of that bracket, and my nett income might be lower than those who are in the high M40 (mid 40%). Sigh... what an unfortunate position to be in.<br />
<br />
Day 10 today... I begin to miss nature. I can't wait to be able to go to <a href="https://www.hertravelogue.com/2018/07/hotel-review-cameron-highlands-resort.html" target="_blank">Cameron Highlands</a> again for some jungle trekking. In fact, anywhere with the beach or jungle will do.<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
On the other side of the world, the U.S. got hit hard with the virus. There were 18k cases spike up within one day. I don't know when we will end this war, but we can only hope for the best.<br />

<br />
I missed one day of the entry, but here's to make up where I have left out.<br />
<a name='more'></a>
<br />
I'm officially down with flu, cough, and fever. It's a package! That is why I missed out on an entry last night.<span style="font-size: x-large;"> But what a time to be sick!</span> I can't help but mentally linking myself to the Covid-19 symptoms. I just can't help it.<br />
<br />
I was also in a dilemma about whether to go to the doctor or not. The possibility of getting infected is high if I expose myself to the hospital or clinic. In the end, I just took a Panadol and sleep.<br />
<br />
Nothing much happened today since I was battling with my aching body and heavy head. I took a lot of lemon water, unfortunately, it makes my throat really dry. </div>
