Lord’s Cafe Cameron Highlands: Best Scones in Malaysia

Finding traditional English food in Cameron Highlands is easy. But finding a good one can be tricky. Just like the best afternoon tea at Cameron Highlands can’t be found at established hotels, but at a quaint cafe behind an alley.

Location: Jalan Besar, Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands (Behind Marrybrown)
Business hour: Daily (except Sunday) 10:00AM - 6:00PM
Price range: RM2 - RM10
Halal: Yes

For those regulars to Cameron Highlands, the Lord’s Cafe is probably one on the list of must-go for tea. Although it is kinda tucked behind an alley, it is also relatively easy to locate. Just look for Marrybrown fast-food chain and you will find the entrance right next to the alley.

It is worth mentioning that the decor of the place is heavily influenced by Christianity. Even some of the furnitures are from the church. Perhaps the owner is a staunch Christian. However, the food is certified halal.

Also worth mentioning, the price here is extremely cheap. I won't even use the word "affordable" because... where else can you find an excellent scone for RM2.80? You can have a decent afternoon tea for two at RM15 and the quality is on par (or even better) than the hotels nearby.

Because of its price and quality, they do sell out most of their items by afternoon. And it is usually packed. Even the locals come here for their tea. Hence, it is not an ideal place to hang out. After you are done with your meal, you are expected to move on and let others take their seat. The customers will keep coming in and lining up at the entrance.

I highly recommend this cafe, in fact, I am missing its scones and tea already.
