2F+ Coffee Cafe by Yellow House, Penang

This cafe is easily missed and hidden behind the foliage of creeping money plants. Besides hidden behind the green natural curtain, the location isn't suitable for a cafe. Its neighbors are old furniture shops, mechanic workshops, renovation shops, etc. Because of these subtle aspects, it quickly became a hidden gem in the Relau area.

Location: Jalan Paya Terubung, 11900 Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang (scroll down below for parking tips)Business hour: 10:00AM - 10:30PM (Closed on Mondays)
Price: Approximately RM10 for coffee, RM30 for a meal

The Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory in Penang

One of my bucket list to tick when coming back to Penang is to have the Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory ice cream. I’m a big fan of cheese ice cream and the Tokyo Milk Cheese cookie. It’s the holy grail souvenir from Tokyo that I ask for if anyone ever visit the city. Upon hearing that the company is opening a standalone stall in Penang, I was overjoyed.

You can also find the Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory in Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur.

Location: Gurney Plaza Penang, Lot 170-B1-K34/35 (Right next to the entrance of Mercato)

Bentong 1 Day Food Trip

The idea of traveling to Pahang for a day just for food might sound tedious. But Bentong is actually an hour away from Kuala Lumpur (or less than that on days with lesser traffic). If you are planning for a longer trip, there are plenty of places to discover, such as the Chamang Waterfall. However, in this post, I'm just going to talk about food.
There are plenty of places for good food in Bentong, but for a day trip, this is as much as I can cramp in:

Penang National Park: A Hike to Turtle Beach

People always think of Penang for its food, beaches, and heritage shophouses, but do you know, a large chunk of Penang Island is covered by forest? If you drive on the road to Batu Ferringhi, you will end up at Teluk Bahang. Beyond all the glamourous resorts by the beach, there's a quiet and sleepy fishermen's village. This is where the Penang National Park starts.

The Penang National Park is frequent by the locals for their weekend nature outing and you can also find some adventurous tourists finding their ways to the most pristine beach of Penang. The National Park gives you access to three beaches that are not accessible by road. We choose to go to Pantai Kerachut (or Kerachut Beach) because the other routes were obstructed by landslide.

Follow These 10 Eco-Lifestyle Tips When Traveling

Turtle Point, Redang

Traveling inevitably increases carbon footprints that can harm our environment. Traveling for leisure is becoming a norm and we are living in a generation that we are so grateful to be able to travel further because of the accessibilities. Flight tickets are cheaper, accommodation is so convenient (hello, Airbnb) and travel guides are available on our fingertips. As we indulge in our trips, let's be mindful of what we can do to reduce the impact on the environment.

Be mindful of the carbon footprints you create when traveling

Traveling creates a lot of carbon footprints. In order to save the environment, don’t travel for leisure, 'nuff said. But now traveling has become a necessity and it promotes good mental health. So, find alternative solutions such as travel to nearer place (for example, instead of traveling to the Maldives you can go to Pulau Pangkil in Indonesia). Travel via sea and land will also more environmentally friendly compared to travel via air.

10 Beginner Tips for Tarot Reading

I was struggling in spirituality a little and I discover that I actually don’t believe in Christianity nor Buddhism like what I was taught from growing up. I believe in nature, cause and effect of our actions determine our surroundings. For example, I believe in the direct relationship between consumerism and global warming. When consulting some friends, they suggest that I might be a witch. This is how I discover tarot.

美滋锅 Beauty In The Pot Review, Genting Highlands

I’m so used to that uncomplicated hotpot buffet where you pay RM55 per head and you can eat all you want. When I arrived at the Beauty in The Pot, I got so confused. First, there’s a waiting list - where you will be prompted via phone when your queue number is approaching. Then, there’s the reputable waiting service. You can have snacks, drinks, and playroom for the kids while you are waiting. And the most challenging part, the waitress speak mainly Chinese. The initial experience was quite awkward when I tried to get a table and the main contributing factor was the language barrier. Securing a table can be a gamble of luck, depending on what time and whether it is a school holiday period.

Kuching, Sarawak 3D2N Itinerary

This year I had an immense interest to learn tarot reading. After talking to so many tarot readers, only one of them agreed to teach me further, so happen he is living in Kuching, which brought me here. I'll talk about tarot reading some other day. Initially, I wanted to do a quick visit for the lesson but after telling my friends of the plan, all of them bought their flight ticket separately to accompany me. I feel so touched. We had so much fun, laughing, exploring and learning about Sarawak culture together. I think I'm really lucky to have my girlfriends who always lift me up spiritually.

Here are what we've cramped on in just 3 days of visit.

Pulau Redang, Again...

When I blogged about my trip to Pulau Redang 3 months ago, I did mentioned that it’s the place I would go back again. Albeit the price, it’s a place you can’t get enough of (if you’re a beach bum who loves the sea, sun and sand)  and want to go over and over again. If given the financial capability, I would move there forever!

Here I am, back to the beloved island of Terengganu. I think you can read more info of the place in my previous post. In this post, I just want to document some good times I had with my parents & friends.

Tropical Spice Garden @ Penang, Malaysia

In this post, I want to recommend a tiny spot in my hometown which is not so popular amongst the tourists (yet). If you don't already know, I'm from Penang Island. It is probably the most touristy island in Malaysia. With all the hustling and bustling, you can find a peaceful sanctuary here at the Tropical Spice Garden. I can't believe I paid to see plants. I could see plants in the nursery or botanical gardens which are free. But this is a different thing altogether.

Good & Authentic Hainanese Food in Penang: Khoon Pastry House

When it comes to food in Penang, we often look for char kuey teow, nasi kandar, laksa, etc. For a change, I recommend you to the Hainanese food at Khoon Pastry House.

As a Penangite who was born and bred on the island, Khoo Pastry House is the go-to place for Hakka/Western food during my childhood. This restaurant has been operating for 3 generations and the business is still going strong.
