Weekend Guide to The Chateau Spa & Organic Wellness Resort

I was looking for a quick weekend trip that isn’t too far from the city to celebrate my friend’s birthday. After nights of research, it seems like The Chateau at Berjaya Hills Bukit Tinggi is a perfect spot for a simple girl’s trip. After all, the last time we came here was 6 years ago, a revisit sounds like a good idea.

Here are all the details you need to know if you’re planning your trip.

Price: Approximately RM1,200 per night for the Noble Suite
Location: Berjaya Hills, Bukit Tinggi, Pahang
Highlights: A total wellness spa hotel

The journey

The drive from Klang Valley to Bukit Tinggi takes about 1.5 hours. The hill isn’t that challenging to drive, unlike Genting Highlands and Cameron Highlands. The hill is also not as high as the other hills. But be sure to drive carefully because Berjaya Hills road is a private road. If an accident occurs, the insurance might not cover your losses.

The hotel

This is a no-child policy at the hotel. Guests are to keep noises low at all times because it’s a wellness and spa hotel. Check-in time is at 3pm and check out is 12pm. And the layout is like a maze, just like how a typical castle is. I really love the entrance of the hotel where there’s an orchid walk of fame beautifully greet you as you walk into the reception area.

La Sante Spa

To maximize our trip, we booked the spa before our check-in, which was at 1pm. I wished I took photos of the spa, unfortunately, it was a rush to meet our reservation, I didn't take any photos. The spa facilities are fully imported from Europe and the masseurs are well-trained. The La Sante Spa also an award-winning spa. View the spa menu <<here>>.

Gym & Yoga

At the resort, there are line ups of yoga classes, fitness boot camp, meditation sessions, etc. throughout the day. You can check out the classes schedule <<here>>. Being a lazy pig, obviously I didn't sign up for any activity. I stayed in bed till late.

The suite

There are a few options of rooms available. Initially, we wanted to book the jacuzzi suite which has a jacuzzi attached to the patio of the suite. Luck wasn't on our side, the room was booked. But we got the Noble Suite which is pretty nice too. The suite has a modern design with vintage flair.

Turndown service

Not many hotels and resorts practice the turndown service. This is a huge bonus. If you are not familiar with turndown service, it is when servants go into the master's chamber to draw the curtain, prepare the bed for sleeping, fragrant the room, etc. so that the master is ready to wind down the day. In our case, the butlers served us with some organic yogurt, remove the towel origami swan from the bed and check out if we know how to use all the facilities in the suite.

Food

When we hear organic food, what comes to mind is the bland tasting greens. Surprisingly the food was good. In fact, I was craving for the barramundi I ate there.

The breakfast was the best thing I had. It is cooked to order with options of different eggs, waffles, pancakes, etc. There is also buffet serving an array of cold cuts, bread, cheese, etc. Typically, breakfast is served at La Vie, next to the pool. But if you're guest of a suite, the breakfast is as Bella Vue, the tea room.

We used to do beer bong and clubbing in uni days. Then left dead broke with couple of bucks to last throughout the month. It's a long way from where we came. Now we celebrate with a spa, suite, and champagne, which I never thought we could afford when we were young. When our life move slower, we tend to appreciate the finer things in life.
